Focused Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy uses high-powered sound waves to encourage cells to repair themselves. Shockwaves have been shown to stimulate bone and tendon healing, reduce inflammation and desensitise nerves.
Shockwave therapy is non-invasive, very safe and highly effective. Research has shown success rates of between 70-80%.
Shockwave therapy has been used for over 10 years. Its increasing popularity is due in part to increased positive medical research and recommendations for its use from NICE (The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence).

What we offer
At Skelian before we offer Shockwave as a treatment, we need to see if it is appropriate to your condition. You can make an appointment with one of our trained health care professionals to discuss your health and the problem you need treated.
We’ll give you a thorough physical exam and once we have the relevant information, the chiropractor or specialist physio will then talk you through the plan to help you achieve your goals. If Shockwave is an appropriate treatment may start during that visit.
