Background
Dani has always had a passion for sport and she felt that a Sports Therapy degree gave her the opportunity to combine her passion whilst helping others and the rest is history. She has worked pitchside as a Sports Therapist with local rugby clubs, providing immediate first aid and taping for the players and you may have also seen Dani at Cheltenham marathon where she delivered pre and post-event sports massage. Dani is an advocate for the positive impact of sport on mental health and consequently has taken various courses in particular exploring the psychological aspects of sport injury, which helps inform her Sports Therapy sessions. As a keen sportswoman, Dani understands the importance of movement and she keeps fit by lifting weights in the gym and playing badminton. She has first hand knowledge of a variety of sports such hockey, netball and athletics. Dani is also an avid football fan and she likes to unwind with a cuppa and watch her favourite footy team.
Approach
Dani has a wide range of treatment techniques to suit everyone’s needs, such as, hands on manual therapy, soft and deep tissue massage, Myofascial dry cupping and Kinesiology taping.
“My aim is to understand my patients’ individual goals and help each patient get to that goal, pain-free using rehabilitation plans and hands-on therapy to minimise the risk of future injury. So whether my patient has a sports injury or they are preparing for an important event such as a triathlon or a charity walk, I will adapt my treatment style and offer a rehabilitation programme to address the issue and improve the biomechanics of the body. I work with a wide variety of patients from professional athletes to new mums and grandparents so I like to use a range of treatment options and individualise rehabilitation programmes.”
Dani offers Sports Therapy (which includes manual therapy, soft tissue work, Myofascial dry cupping and Kinesiology taping); Sport Massage (which is for anyone in need of a more thorough deep tissue massage). If you are needing to unwind Dani can tailer her massages to make them more relaxing, with lighter pressure to sooth aching or tight muscles.
